This place on the North Shore of Oahu is privy to the sunset only a few weeks out of the year. Knowing this I headed down to catch a sunset.... I never expected to see a turtle resting on the sand here , so much so, I almost walked into him. What a delight it was to see him!! For some reason its always been a challenge for me to get a sunset capture with a Turtle. I don't know if its the light , the sand, the turtle , the air that creates a less than perfect shot, but on this day, with this sunset.... I got lucky..... with this one.... I am a lucky Island gal......

 The ocean is winter rough around Oahu... I have been grounded....It is a difficult time... LOLOL.... I was sitting at a stop light the other day and looked up.... Three things you are gonna see on Oahu.... traffic lights , Kamehameha Hwy and rainbows... seeing them all in one place?  no guarantee....I had to stop and take the shot.... seriously!!   =)

 Winter in the Islands is in full swing....                                                                      the water way too rough for me to swim in.....                                                                                             but the views from the  shoreline  are incredible.........                                          .......in Blues and greens and whites..... the colors of winter in Hawaii Nei

Winter arrives in the islands..... the water becomes rough, blown by wind and winter storms out in the open ocean.... for me the water in many places becomes too dangerous so i must sit and wait till spring before i reenter the water... the wait is always agonizing... I took this pic two weeks ago after i returned from the East Coast of the United States... I longed to feel the sand of the Pacific Ocean beneath my feet.. in my hurry i left my purse on the back seat floor of my car.... When i returned to my car my window had been broken , my purse gone.... my brand new iphone a gift from my daughter and soninlaw, was gone... the wallet my mother bought me before she passed on... gone.... There are two things i know for sure....  1. ALL material things can be replace... what we can buy is not irreplaceable....  2. If u believe in the after life , you will understand my mother SAW who took that wallet... God help them they are gonna need ...

My daughter lives in Boston Massachusetts.....  I have been visiting her..... What an amazing planet  we live on..... This Hawaiian LOVED Massachusetts, , her changing leaves and her ocean, the incredible Atlantic.... very very different from the Pacific but just as impressive!!

He was sitting in front of my stuff when i came back from down the beach.....I did not realize right off what a beautiful spot he had picked to lay in the sun ... Mother Nature does this, she can cure us  of  our Tunnel vision....

 I must confess....  those of us who live here in the islands.... we forget, take advantage of, ignore the beauty we live amidst.... Shame on us..... I must confess.....
