The Cure....

I was super, on the verge of screaming, irritated...  The beach was crowded. I had to park  a good distance away from the entrance to the ocean and walk... so seriously grumbling to myself , I took a short cut through the Hawaiian Jungle... I was still mumbling to my self when i noticed the birds had gone silent... the gentle breezes had stopped too.


Then i saw it... the light from the sun coming thru the jungle... I simply, quickly and quietly, lost my foul attitude....


as I stepped out of the jungle this was what i saw...
The Cure for a foul mood.... try Mother Nature....

The Splash

The water in the Bay has calmed down enough for me to swim into the big cave at the bay. I enter the crystal clear water of a little bay that's sits within the Big bay and made my way toward the cave. The tides are still high, the ocean not quite ready for the low low tides of summer. I enter the big cave that is still partially filled with water. The tide is pushing me in and out of the cool cave like a ride at the carnival! In and out... in and out of the cave, all the while I'm trying like crazy to get a picture from the inside of the cave looking out. It was on my 20Th trip with the tide back into the cave that I heard the splash behind me. Now, for me a splash behind me causes my heart to immediately start racing. Why? well when sharks feed they have a certain tail movement that causes a splash. I hear the splash and my brain goes into overdrive, "LANI", my brain screams, "DON'T look back,just swim to shore".. i feel my legs getting weak.. "LAN...

Spring .. Let the Waiting Begin.

I was standing in the sun but soon those dark clouds were over me dumping rain so cold it sent scores of people flying up the beach for shelter. And so it is here in Hawaii, its called duck in and duck out...rain one minute, sun the next. Winter is not quite ready to leave us on land. BUT.... The Ocean tells a different story! The water is warmer than the rain, and she is clearing up. The snow storms under water are becoming lighter and as you can see the BLUE is incredible! My goal again this year as in the past 3 years is to get dolphin pictures right where this turtle is! Wish me luck, this is very shallow water. oh, but the pictures would be magnificent would they not? The dolphins will be here soon, passing the Bay and at times entering the Bay in joyous harmony...I am delighted .... Let the waiting begin!
