... there are clouds.... and when there are clouds here in the islands...... the sunrise lights up the morning skies and they are absolutely beautiful... I am an island gal.....

We set up rat traps all over the shop... something was eating our chips etc. Months we waited... it was eating our computer wires too. Dog gone it!! We finally caught it Friday by hand... it was a Chinchilla!! cutest thing you ever did see... Chinchillas are NOT native to Hawaii... where it came from we have NOOOO clue. I am an island gal..........

Sunrise in the islands.... To be able to share with you these things, in this place that i love, has brought me great joy. I am so very Thankful for the opportunity... Happy Thanksgiving my friends!!! I am an island gal.......

I called her a BEAST in a past post... beautiful sunset... beast of beach.. Her reef sits inches under the waves of winter! I finally found a video that will help explain... I want to say that I think these guys who are called the "Pipeline Posse" are crazy... I could say more but we will just leave it at "crazy". The reef picture of the pipe was taken by pro photog Sean Davey... he is good... and he is a long time ocean man... I am an island gal........

It is sooooo surreal , I can barely find the words.... I got to the ocean early Monday morning, the air cool and crisp, the morning sun gleaming off the blue of the ocean. Because it was a Monday there was only one other car in the parking lot. I hurriedly tucked my camera into my bathing suit,quickly put on my mask, bit down on my snorkel and headed for the water. My feet are truly only comfortable when I am on the sand but lingering on shore this morning was not in my mind. I could see the dolphins out in the deep water and I wanted to get into the ocean as quickly as possible. There were waves breaking on shore, I carefully ducked under each one until "LALALALA!" I was out in the open ocean. I started calling underwater, thru my snorkel to the dolphins. "Dolphin... Dollll Phin.... DOOOOLLLL PHINNNN" I called for 15 minutes.. nothing. They stayed in the deep water, not the least bit interested in the human voice that called to them. I have learned not to swim aft...

It was raining but i headed west anyway... the setting sun thru the clouds was just magnificent.. Then as if to say goodnight to the sun, turtle heads started popping up out of the water... I reach for my camera " OMYGOODNESS look at the turtles!"... Went to snap the picture my BATTERIES were dead! (faint) Mother nature doesn't have a rewind or pause button but she does have a magnificent NEXT TIME button! I am an island gal......
