TROPICAL

For the first time in years I was not in the water at first light Saturday morning.








I went to the very old Waioli Tea Room for breakfast with good friends.











The Waioli Tea Room sits in an area known for it foliage. Its been there since 1922. Great place, good food, VERY different from the Ocean.







The green beauty of this place erases all thoughts of the drought we are in..







The word Tropical was invented just to describe a place like this...










I am a tropical island gal =0D......

that place is rich with lingering mana. while working at the Salvation Army on the property (once Queen Kaahumanu's) overnights I often felt it...

I am amazed that the tea room has been around for so long. It must be quite relaxing sitting and having a cup of coffee in such an environment.

Cloudia I so agree. another place of quiet! it always amazes me how our ansestors chose such peaceful places !


Fire its an awesome spot. The homes in the surrounding area are just amazing..


Next time you can stop Chrissy.. ur camera in this spot would be magnificent!

Returning Home

It is time for me to return to the North Shore full time. It is at Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu, that I sit and wait for the tell tale ripples of water that signal the DOLPINS have arrived! The water calming down from the massive winter waves that just a few weeks ago pounded this side of the island, i return to her shores full time with glee! I will be subjected to the teasing of the regulars at the Bay who jokingly say, "Wheres the dolphins, Lani?" I always say in my mind, "There are far worse places I would need to wait!" LOLOL. This weekend the Bay gave a sneak performance of how magnificent her waters will be! Clear beautiful water, clean beautiful sand, the sun creating stain glass window like patterns on the sandy sea floor. And if that isn't enough the days of spring and summer on the North shore of Oahu, end with sunsets that are just magic!

Dolphin Day

They swam by me at mach speed swimming into the bay.. they turned around and passed me again checking out my orange swimsuit. I dont think they like it...LOL... It was good to see them.. they played tag with me for awhile, back and forth, back and forth. Finally exhausted i hauled myself out of the water and watched as they came close to shore , if i would of stayed in the water i would of got some major pics. I was just too tired,they are much much better swimmers than i am... lol...till next time.... I am an island gal.......
